I began my teaching career seven years ago in a small school in rural Northamptonshire; Prince William was a wonderful school to be an NQT in and so my teaching career quickly became something I was proud of. I knew that I could make a difference to the students I taught and the colleagues I worked alongside.
Two years later, I moved to Sharnbrook Upper School in Bedfordshire to become Assistant Head of English; I thrived in this role until I was appointed as Head of English the following year. I stayed in the role for three years and after a year in post began my M Teach qualification with the Institute of Education (IOE) in London. The experience of being a teacher-researcher changed my professional life and gave me the confidence to develop the projects that really mattered in school.
I am currently Lead Practitioner for School Improvement and a member of Senior Management. I lead the ASTs in school and have developed a system of intelligent accountability and joined up thinking. I feel privileged to work at Sharnbrook and feel that I have the best job in the world! My new relationship with the 21st Century Learning Alliance confirms this and shows that this year is going to be more exciting than ever!
