The focus of the project is APP – assessing pupil progress – which has replaced the KS3 SATs.  Eaton Bank is looking at how this form of assessment fits into the science curriculum, by developing a number of different assessments which will appeal to students’ different preferred learning styles.

The ultimate aim is to provide students with freedom of choice in how to respond to a challenge and we are looking to assess skills as well as content though the different foci.

Students and staff also need to understand how the marking criteria will be applied. Exemplar materials will help staff to moderate their judgements and students to understand how to move their learning forward.
