About

In 2009-2010 the 21st Century Learning Alliance launched its Fellowship programme supporting teachers to carry out developmental or small action-research projects relating to teaching and learning for the 21st century.  The Fellowship aims to support classroom teachers and those with leadership responsibility in schools (e.g. Heads of Department, Heads of Year and leaders of the stages from Foundation to Key Stage 5) who are exploring the implications of what 21st century learning means in practice either within general pedagogy, subject teaching or school organisation.

Grants were paid to participating schools in two instalments, an initial start-up grant enabling Fellows to draw off funds as necessary for visits, resources and release time in order to pursue their identified study.  Fellows were expected to produce a presentation of their findings in their chosen area of investigation and development.  A further personal honorarium was paid to the teacher(s) on successful completion of the fellowship.

The bursary provided by the 21st Century Learning Alliance supported the teacher(s) and the school in the research, analysis, documentation and dissemination of the findings.
